About the role

  • Manage and supervise the month-end close process to ensure that the Accounting team meets internal close deadlines for management reporting
  • Manage and supervise monthly projects with the Accounting team including systems implementations, deployment of new products, Liaise with the different stakeholders of the business to ensure that any items that have a financial statement impact are appropriately considered and accounted for each period
  • Identify financial trends and cost savings opportunities in the financial statements
  • Identify projects that streamline the department’s accounting and reporting and provide solutions to advance the goals of the department
  • Review and assist with the implementation of new accounting standards and evaluate current GAAP requirements and may assist in the development of accounting memorandums
  • Assist with the development of financial statements and disclosures for purposes of internal reporting
  • Keeps up to date of new innovative accounting and reporting tools that can streamline business processes and proposes alternative accounting processes

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills needed to help manage members of the team, drive progress toward meeting goals and develop comprehensive plans to meeting goals
  • Adaptability and flexibility are necessary as Teramind is a fast-paced growth-oriented environment
  • Strong technical experience needed to assist with general ledger accounting, technical accounting and reporting activities
  • Skills in leadership, teambuilding, and development of team members as collaboration is critical to the achievement of team and organization success
  • Someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and be an individual contributor when necessary
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Relevant professional certifications, such as CPA, preferred
  • Over 5 years of relevant experience in industry or public accounting
  • Proven track record in process improvement, financial systems, and business process change initiatives
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP, PCAOB, and ICFR
  • Experience with month-end close processes, revenue reconciliation, and creating comprehensive financial reports
  • Ability to lead teams during external audits and manage departmental responsibilities
  • Prior management experience is essential as responsibilities will grow with the organization
  • Experience in developing and implementing ERP systems.
