About the role
- Achieve sales quotas through driving new patient starts, sales in outpatient infusion centers and hospitals, and retention of patients on Takeda augmentation treatment.
- Focus on healthcare professionals (Allergy/Immunology, Pulmonology, Infectious Disease, select Internal Medicine/Primary Care) to educate and inform on Takeda brands for Primary Immune Deficiency.
- Build National Sales and Marketing Strategy in a compliant manner and create a territory business tactical plan to maximize opportunity.
- Manage the business within a specific geographical territory; call on prospective customers, master sales presentations, provide technical and administrative product information and demonstrations, and maintain compliance with promotional and expense policies.
- Report directly to the Sr. Regional Business Director and work in partnership with home office personnel, the Marketing/Brand team, and the National and Corporate account teams.
- Use Microsoft applications and Takeda's customer management system; conduct community education events for healthcare professionals and patients; occasional nights and weekends.
Requirements
- Clinical sales background with a Bachelor's degree (minimum) required.
- 5+ years of proven experience in healthcare sales with demonstrated successful outcomes.
- Reside within the assigned territory and manage it comprehensively from border to border.
- Experienced in navigating payer and reimbursement challenges.
- Must be 18 years of age or older with valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Must have authorization and ability to drive a company leased vehicle or rental.
- Training: successfully passing mandatory product training which includes written and oral examinations.
- External hires: classified as non-exempt during training and not eligible for Takeda sales incentive programs during training.
- Preferred: 7+ years of successful healthcare sales experience.
- Preferred: Experience with specialty biologics (injections/infusions) and collaboration with specialty pharmacies.
- Preferred: Knowledge of and experience in Plasma-Derived Therapies, Rare Diseases or Biotech.
