About the role

  • Independently design electrical components and subsystems, including schematic capture, layout, and failure mode analysis for PCBAs, cables, and electromechanical parts.
  • Develop advanced circuit/system test methods; analyze EMI/EMC, reliability, safety, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Conduct advanced prototyping, troubleshoot complex design issues, and balance trade-offs.
  • Translate user needs into design inputs; support Voice of Customer sessions; apply clinical knowledge to inform design.
  • Lead design controls, risk management, and creation of Design History File per regulatory standards.
  • Partner with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management teams to ensure project success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 4+ years of electrical design experience in product development.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical components, failure modes, and manufacturing methods.
  • Proficiency in CAD and circuit design/analysis tools.
  • Ability to interpret system drawings and design for mechanical/software/electrical interactions.
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC, reliability, and safety standards.
  • Experience in medical device development or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with design controls, risk management, and quality systems.
  • Knowledge of electromechanical systems and integration with software.
  • Advanced proficiency in PCB design tools and electrical simulation software.
  • Understanding of clinical environments and user needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects or mentor junior engineers.
