About the role
- Work transversally across custody functions to oversee service delivery and operational and financial risks
- Oversee day-to-day Custody operations across all EMEA-based teams
- Lead the operational integration of new business contracted through the region
- Monitor custody operations outside of EMEA providing services to EMEA-contracted clients
- Execute Custody strategy within the region in support of global priorities
- Proactively identify, monitor and resolve material emerging risks in EMEA custody operations
- Engage Business Risk Management within region / globally to address systemic risk themes at root
- Oversee assessments, driving self-identification and manage closure of associated remediation activities
- Ensure appropriate functional ownership of risks and operational issues and that mitigation activities are formally tracked
- Drive a ‘Risk Excellence’ and risk ownership / accountability mindset into everyday operations
- Monitor / execute strategic change activities to ensure desired outcome
- Manage performance against budget within region, drive actions to address budget overspends
- Establish / maintain systems to manage staffing levels and employee welfare
- Represent Global Custody in client interactions and service reviews
- Represent Custody and Global Delivery in interactions with wider State Street organisation
- Monitor third party providers to ensure service delivery in line with expectations
- Engage with regional and global corporate support functions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master of Business Administration preferred
- 20+ years financial services experience
- Strategic, execution-oriented mindset
- Knowledge of EMEA regulatory environment preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills & proven ability to establish and develop relationships
- Ability to manage under pressure
- Ability to provide respectful challenge
- Ability to influence large teams not in direct line responsibility
- Ability to influence organizational change
