About the role
- Design, develop, and deploy a custom ServiceNow application to consolidate functionality from legacy systems and disparate tools.
- Build and configure custom modules, tables, workflows, forms, business rules, UI components, and notifications in alignment with ServiceNow development best practices.
- Create unique service portal pages and widgets to aid the business organization.
- Implement system integration strategies using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and MID Servers for both internal and external systems.
- Configure and manage security models, including users, roles, groups, and access control rules (ACLs).
- Support the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) —from design and development to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and business analysts to refine requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Contribute to and lead data migration planning and execution from legacy systems into ServiceNow.
- Conduct unit testing, support user acceptance testing (UAT), and troubleshoot issues in development and production environments.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specs, and support guides.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers and team members.
- Work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams including solution architects, product owners, and platform administrators.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development
- Proven experience replacing or consolidating legacy systems with ServiceNow solutions
- Strong expertise in: ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript, Glide API), Flow Designer, Workflow Editor, and Client/Server-side development, REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and MID Server integrations
- Deep understanding of ServiceNow architecture, platform capabilities, and limitations
- Experience configuring and managing: Users, roles, groups, access control rules (ACLs), Data models, custom tables, and performance-optimized structures
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in Agile or hybrid-Agile environments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with ServiceNow Platform Analytics and UI Builder.
