About the role

  • Manages the preparation of the monthly financial statement close process and property level reporting
  • Manages the assigned property accounting staff
  • Coordinates and reviews monthly reporting from property accountants
  • Assists with Treasury responsibilities for all banking institutions
  • Supports integration of new property acquisitions
  • Coordinates and assists with external financial statement audits
  • Assists in the coordination of all property tax payments
  • Prepares and reviews journal entries and account reconciliations, etc.
  • Assists in the preparation of internal reports for variance analysis
  • Prepares supplemental financial schedules
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
  • Reviews quarterly property level debt compliance reports
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration or comparable work experience
  • 5+ years of demonstrated success managing a team
  • Experience in real estate accounting a plus
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills a must
  • Be detailed oriented while multi-tasking in a fast-paced company
  • Must be hands-on and work effectively in a demanding environment
  • Be able to adapt quickly to change
