About the role
- Plan, execute, and document comprehensive test campaigns for MEO satellite network equipment across gateway (hub) and remote terminal environments.
- Perform performance, functional, regression, and environmental testing using industry-standard tools and methodologies, including iPerf, BERT, RFC 2544, latency/jitter profiling, and link-budget validation.
- Validate end-to-end performance, traffic behavior, system interoperability, and compliance with SESSD IT, Network and Cybersecurity policies
- Develop automation frameworks and repeatable test suites using Python, Bash, or similar tools, and build automated workflows to run long-duration tests, collect telemetry, export logs, and generate performance reports.
- Maintain internal utilities for data parsing, KPI computation, and automated pass/fail analysis.
- Work hands-on with Linux subsystems, networking stacks, docker containers, k8s pods, drivers, and system services.
- Conduct on-site field testing at customer sites or SESSD Integration facilities in the DMV area.
- Operate RF test equipment, traffic generators, spectrum analyzers, power meters, other test tools and data-collection systems.
- Maintain readiness of the integration and test labs, ensuring equipment configuration, cabling, firmware, and topology are always up-to-date.
- Perform troubleshooting in real time, including link bring-up, RF alignment, power issues, and network path debugging.
Requirements
- BSEE or equivalent + 2 Years of related Work Experience or MSEE Equivalent from an accredited school
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Self-motivated. Takes initiative. Sense of Ownership. Passionate. Positive attitude.
- Ability to create and maintain documentation for test environments, lab topologies, and deployment standards.
- Define and enforce infrastructure standards for both hub-side and remote-side deployments, including minimum hardware specs, container images, OS baselines, and configuration templates.
- Produce high-quality test reports for internal engineering, product, and leadership teams, presenting results clearly with supporting data.
- Fundamental Understanding of Networking Technologies - Routing & Switching, Linux & Network Automation
- Strong foundational knowledge of college Level Physics and Math
- Citizenship US Person with ITAR clearance
