About the role
- Administers speech and language evaluations, tests or examinations to diagnose and plan treatment.
- Assesses clients with various speech, language, cognitive or swallowing problems and develops treatment plans.
- Provides speech and language services to clients; monitors disease progression and adjusts treatments accordingly.
- Instructs clients in practicing speech and language therapeutic exercises.
Requirements
- Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
- Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence issued by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) or currently working on Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
- When applicable, may require valid driver's license.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
