About the role
- Pre-study including information gathering, method selection and plan of the thesis work
- Get insights into process planning
- Analyze existing solutions related to process planning in the markets and their limitations
- Collect end-user requirements
- Investigate how AI can enhance machining time estimation
- Define necessary algorithms to calculate time study for different operation types (limited scope – Milling/Turning/Drilling)
- Create a prototype to validate the algorithm
- Conclude findings, challenges, and suggested solutions
- Written report and oral presentation
Requirements
- Master studies in Mechanical/Production/Computer engineering, or similar
- Good skills and interest in process and operation planning
- Skills and interest in information modeling, AI and programming
- Insights into the metal cutting industry and processes are beneficial
- Excellent communication skills in English and/or Swedish
