About the role
- Lead the full deal lifecycle from investment thesis and sourcing through diligence, negotiation, and close for acquisitions and minority equity investments
- Own market mapping, pipeline development, valuation and business case creation
- Partner closely with executive leadership, legal/finance, and the integration leader to deliver strategic, high‑quality outcomes
- Build investment theses, market maps, and a high‑quality pipeline aligned to RTI’s strategy
- Originate opportunities via banker/VC/PE networks, founders, conferences, and targeted outreach
- Maintain funnel metrics and lead regular pipeline reviews with the executive leadership team (ELT)
- Lead strategic‑fit assessments, synergy sizing, and risk analysis; pressure‑test assumptions with business owners
- Own financial modeling and valuation; craft scenario analyses and sensitivities
- Develop crisp executive and Board materials with clear recommendations and alternatives
- Drive LOIs/term sheets and coordinate diligence workstreams (commercial, financial, legal, technical, HR, security)
- Manage advisors (banking, legal, tax, regulatory) and negotiate key economics and terms (purchase agreements, equity docs, governance/rights, earn‑outs)
- Run approvals and closing checklists to deliver on time and to quality
- Partner with the integration leader and business sponsors on value‑capture plans, success metrics, and Day‑1 readiness
- For minority investments, monitor portfolio performance, manage investor rights (e.g., information rights, pro rata/ROFR), and prepare portfolio updates for leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s level degree in business or related field
- 12+ years in Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Private Equity/Venture Capital, or Strategy/Transactions consulting with a track record of closed deals
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills; comfort with imperfect data and tight timelines
- Strong negotiation, executive communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence cross-functional leaders
- Familiarity with definitive agreements and key terms; proven ability to partner effectively with internal and external counsel
- Preferred MBA or relevant advanced degree strongly preferred
- Experience in health tech, pharma services, data/analytics, or the U.S. federal market (e.g., NIH/CDC/DoD) preferred
- Exposure to integration planning and value-capture measurement preferred
- Network across bankers, funds, founders, and industry operators
- Tools & Work Style: Excel/PowerPoint (expert); data rooms; CRM; research platforms (e.g., PitchBook/CapIQ/FactSet); project tools; e‑signature (e.g., DocuSign)
