About the role
- Architect, build, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments
- Administer production, staging, and development systems, ensuring performance and availability
- Apply configuration management and patching practices, including DISA STIGs, SCAP checks, and OS hardening
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance, addressing server load, resource utilization , and availability
- Manage and aggregate system logs, monitoring for security incidents and system-related issues
- Develop automation solutions and tooling for monitoring, metrics, and self-service operations using Python, Bash, Ansible, or related tools
- Enforce best practices for security and compliance, including access control, vulnerability testing, and audit readiness
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex Linux/Unix system issues, including performance concerns, crashes, and cloud storage incidents
- Maintain and improve CI/CD build and deployment processes, supporting development and operational teams
- Provide after-hours support through on-call participation and perform proactive daily system health checks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of Linux Administration experience in production environments
- Current Linux certification (LPIC-2, RHCSA, SCA, etc.) or ability to obtain within six months
- Proven expertise in Linux/Unix troubleshooting, log file forensics, and performance optimization
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Proficiency in scripting with Python, Bash, or equivalent languages
- Familiarity with enterprise-level deployments and hyperscale cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Strong understanding of patch management practices, including DNF and automated processes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in high-pressure environments.
