About the role
- Design and develop critical backend services and drive them end-to-end through the full product lifecycle
- Lay the foundation of data infrastructure, building reliable services and integrations for structured data
- Design APIs and storage layers interacting with healthcare data and leverage modern data formats and warehouse technologies
- Ensure systems are built for transactional reliability and analytical insight
- Drive architectural decisions, mentor teammates, and lead major projects
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineers to ship high-quality solutions
- Own medium to large backend services and improve system design, observability, testing, performance, and support
- Participate in operational activities including on-call, monitoring, and production support
- Contribute across the stack (front end, infrastructure, AWS) as necessary to unblock projects
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages
- Proficient in Python with demonstrated ability to write and maintain production-quality code
- Able to participate in on-call operational support for their areas of responsibility
- Able to travel up to 4 weeks a year for company co-working and/or retreat weeks
- Authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship
- Must be within the New York City metro area
