About the role

Design and develop critical backend services and drive them end-to-end through the full product lifecycle
Lay the foundation of data infrastructure, building reliable services and integrations for structured data
Design APIs and storage layers interacting with healthcare data and leverage modern data formats and warehouse technologies
Ensure systems are built for transactional reliability and analytical insight
Drive architectural decisions, mentor teammates, and lead major projects
Collaborate with product, design, and engineers to ship high-quality solutions
Own medium to large backend services and improve system design, observability, testing, performance, and support
Participate in operational activities including on-call, monitoring, and production support
Contribute across the stack (front end, infrastructure, AWS) as necessary to unblock projects

BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
6+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages
Proficient in Python with demonstrated ability to write and maintain production-quality code
Able to participate in on-call operational support for their areas of responsibility
Able to travel up to 4 weeks a year for company co-working and/or retreat weeks
Authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship
Must be within the New York City metro area
