About the role
- Lead design and implementation of fault tolerance simulation software.
- Management of a group of dedicated software engineers and quantum architects.
- Develop error simulation methodology to model the origin and propagation of errors.
- Work closely with other parts of the quantum architecture team (research teams, architectural design) to identify gaps, gather requirements, develop and implement simulation methods.
- Work closely with software teams to develop tools and artifacts for use by all these teams to increase efficiency/speed of model development and deployment.
- Build, implement, and maintain SW operational processes, standards, APIs, libraries and protocols (as needed) to ensure model integrity and utility.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantum Information Theory, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical/scientific field.
- 7+ years of software development experience
- 2+ years experience developing simulation software for fault tolerant quantum computing.
- Familiarity with quantum networks, quantum graph states, quantum error-correcting codes, linear optical quantum computing, error modelling, graphical calculus (e.g, tensor networks, ZX calculus) strongly preferred.
- Experience with SW build systems, CI/CD methodologies.
- Demonstrated verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Proven team player with an ability to work effectively across departments, sites, and time zones.
- A results-driven “doer”, preferably with experience in a high-throughput, rapid-delivery work environment.
- Ability to work independently and contribute in a fast-moving start-up environment.
- Experience with hiring, mentoring and developing talent.
- Experience programming in Python, C++ or similar languages.
