About the role

  • Develop and lead legislative advocacy campaigns at federal and state levels to advance climate policy
  • Oversee cross-departmental coordination on policy-related initiatives
  • Manage, coach, and mentor advocacy team staff
  • Conduct policy research and analysis to inform advocacy strategies
  • Represent POW in meetings, hearings, and events with government officials, coalitions, and partners

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience working in climate policy, environmental law, or related field
  • At least 2-3+ years of people management experience
  • Proven track record of influencing policy outcomes and advancing legislative priorities
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state legislative processes, particularly related to environmental and climate policy
  • A strong network within the climate policy, outdoor recreation, or clean energy sectors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with policymakers, stakeholders, and coalition partners
  • Experience leading projects independently
