About the role
- Develop and lead legislative advocacy campaigns at federal and state levels to advance climate policy
- Oversee cross-departmental coordination on policy-related initiatives
- Manage, coach, and mentor advocacy team staff
- Conduct policy research and analysis to inform advocacy strategies
- Represent POW in meetings, hearings, and events with government officials, coalitions, and partners
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience working in climate policy, environmental law, or related field
- At least 2-3+ years of people management experience
- Proven track record of influencing policy outcomes and advancing legislative priorities
- Strong knowledge of federal and state legislative processes, particularly related to environmental and climate policy
- A strong network within the climate policy, outdoor recreation, or clean energy sectors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with policymakers, stakeholders, and coalition partners
- Experience leading projects independently
