About the role

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business questions into well-defined data models, metrics, and analytics products.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, reusable, and governed data models using modern data stack tools (e.g., Cube, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Establish and maintain semantic layers and standardized metrics to drive consistency across dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics.
  • Partner with Data Engineering to productionize data pipelines and ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Implement robust data quality, testing, and monitoring frameworks to maintain trust in data.
  • Drive adoption of best practices in data modeling, version control, CI/CD, and documentation.
  • Create clear, compelling dashboards and reports that empower stakeholders to explore and act on data insights.
  • Contribute to the organization’s data culture by coaching analysts, business partners, and product teams on effective data use.
  • Support and troubleshoot production data workflows, ensuring availability, accuracy, and timeliness.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in SQL (analytical and performance-optimized queries) and data modeling techniques (star/snowflake schemas, Data Vault, dimensional modeling).
  • Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks to build modular, testable, and version-controlled data models.
  • Familiarity with data orchestration and workflow tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster).
  • Proficiency with at least one programming language for data (Python preferred; familiarity with Java is a plus).
  • Strong experience with BI/visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker, including semantic layer modeling.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps practices (CI/CD, Git, testing, code review) applied to data workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills: able to translate technical concepts into business terms and collaborate across teams.
