About the role
- Prepare and present detailed investment theses, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and investment committees
- Conduct and summarize due diligence evaluating the scientific/technical, clinical, regulatory, and commercial aspects of potential investments
- Evaluate market trends, competitive landscapes, and scientific advancements to identify high-potential investment opportunities
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and modeling to assess the viability of potential investments in therapeutics companies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including generative AI and data science team members, to integrate advanced analytics and AI solutions into investment decision-making processes
- Build relationships with industry experts, portfolio companies, and other stakeholders to gather insights and foster collaboration
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements relevant to biotech and healthcare investments
Requirements
- PhD, MD, or other advanced degree in life sciences
- 2-5 years’ relevant work experience in a role that involves financial modeling and investment analysis in the biotech or healthcare sectors, such as biotech or healthcare investment banking/equity research, healthcare strategy consulting, or business development at a life sciences company.
- Public investment or transaction experience will be viewed positively.
- Demonstrated skills in computational biology, AI, data science, or similar that can be applied to investment decision-making.
- Prior experience applying one or more of these skills to deal sourcing, investment idea generation, or due diligence is a plus.
- Solid understanding of biotechnology, biology, and therapeutic development processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
