About the role

  • Identify, research, and prospect new SME merchants in South Africa.
  • Assist Sales Manager and conduct outreach through cold calling, emailing to generate interest.
  • Run regular campaigns from Hubspot to warm up leads.
  • Qualify leads by understanding business size, technical setup, and payment needs.
  • Nurture relationships and set up discovery meetings for Sales Managers or close smaller deals directly.
  • Maintain high activity levels daily to ensure a healthy pipeline.
  • Own and grow a portfolio of SME merchants (500K - 1M), meeting acquisition and revenue growth targets.
  • Assist any merchant under 500K that cannot go through the automation onboarding process due to pricing and other reasons.
  • Answer Sales incoming calls and action.
  • Execute tailored sales strategies for key verticals such as retail, hospitality, e-commerce, and education.
  • Build strong relationships with merchants and partners, focusing on trust and long-term growth.
  • Understand merchant technical needs (e-commerce integrations, APIs, payment options) and position Peach solutions effectively.
  • Engage with Product, Marketing and Operations teams to support customer research and support.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, with a strong emphasis on both administration and sales
  • a master of consultative selling, with a history of closing complex deals and exceeding ambitious targets
  • exceptional pipeline management skills and the ability to accurately forecast and report on sales performance
  • a self-starter who thrives in a high-growth, 'scale-up' environment and can operate with a high degree of autonomy
  • a passion for technology and a genuine desire to help businesses succeed.
