About the role
- Manage health, welfare, retirement, and wellness benefits administration
- Serve as escalation point for complex employee benefits questions
- Ensure data accuracy in HRIS/benefits platforms; coordinate audits and error resolution
- Support leaves of absence, disability, and retirement processes
- Conduct regular benefits reporting (cost, utilization, trends)
- Assist with benchmarking against market data to identify program competitiveness
- Translate data into insights for leadership decision-making
- Ensure compliance with U.S. regulations (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, IRS)
- Assist with global compliance research and coordination (e.g., local statutory benefits, regional reporting)
- Support internal/external audits and filings
- Create and deliver engaging educational materials for new hire orientations, benefits enrollment periods, and program updates
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees, answering questions, resolving issues, and guiding them through benefits processes
- Collaborate with the Total Rewards team to continuously improve the employee experience
- Serve as day-to-day contact for benefit carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators
- Track service levels, troubleshoot issues, and escalate as needed
- Support RFPs, renewals, and vendor performance reviews
- Partner with internal stakeholders (People Ops, Payroll, Legal, Finance, global People business partners)
- Contribute to international program launches and expansions
- Assist with global benefits surveys and benchmarking
- Support communication strategy for global Open Enrollment and new benefit introductions
- Participate in cross-border initiatives such as M&A integrations, new entity creation or global benefits program alignment
- Partner closely with internal teams, including Accounting, Finance, Legal, People Operations, and Works Councils
- Actively contribute to team discussions, share insights, and support colleagues in achieving shared objectives
- Participate in global benefits strategy planning
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, related field or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of progressive global benefits and leave administration experience
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. health & welfare, retirement, and leave programs; global experience is a plus
- Strong vendor management skills and experience with HR/benefits platforms (UKG, PeopleSoft, Workday etc.)
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills—you love turning numbers into actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills—you can explain complex benefits programs in a way that’s clear, simple, and human
- A proactive, adaptable mindset—you thrive in fast-moving, scaling environments
- Detail-obsessed and handle sensitive info with care and discretion
- Bring energy, urgency, and a bias for action to everything you do
- Know how to balance priorities and keep stakeholders aligned
- Tailor your message to fit the audience—execs, employees, vendors, you name it
- Build trust through transparency, integrity, and follow-through
- CEBS or other benefits certifications are great to have, but not required.
