About the role

  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all departments
  • Manage workers compensation claims, working closely with HR and insurance providers
  • Maintain all safety-related documentation and reporting
  • Develop and lead plant-wide safety committees
  • Deliver safety orientation and ongoing training for all employees
  • Track and report on key safety metrics (TRIR, DART, etc.)
  • Coordinate emergency preparation and response plans
  • Foster a strong safety culture through employee engagement and accountability

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in a safety role within manufacturing, preferably in food processing
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Experience in training and leading safety initiatives
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS software systems
  • Preferred Certifications: OSHA 30-hour or 510/500 certification
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar credential
