About the role
- Provide expert legal guidance on compliance with environmental and safety laws
- Advise on safety and environmental permitting, compliance, and incident response
- Initiate and manage privileged investigations
- Monitor regulatory compliance requirements globally
- Provide guidance to senior leadership regarding compliance standards
- Identify risks and regulatory strategies
- Legal guidance for integrating acquired businesses on compliance
Requirements
- Must be a licensed Attorney in the U.S.
- At least 4-7 years in a business environment as in-house counsel or comparable law firm experience
- Highly developed skills and significant experience with environmental and safety compliance, permitting and incident response, and privileged investigations
- Experience working directly with business executives and operations
- Ability to be strategic, practical, assertive, adaptable, creative and flexible
- Proven ability to manage external counsel
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Skills and experience with agricultural crop inputs regulation
