About the role
- Responsible for the cross-company management and oversight of the legal function in the DACH subregion
- Provide legal advice and active support to the executive boards of the operating companies
- Develop and implement standards, harmonize regulations, and promote a proactive legal department
- Define and perform the managerial role in shaping corporate strategy and objectives
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel on operational and strategic matters
- Identify legal risks and support Compliance and related departments
- Develop and monitor consistent standards and best practices
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external
- Drive integration of the legal function into operational business processes
- Identify, assess, and advise on the implementation and mitigation of legal risks and compliance
Requirements
- Fully qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Germany
- Several years of experience in a senior legal role in an international company or a reputable law firm
- Sound knowledge of civil, corporate, employment (labor) and commercial law across the DACH countries
- Proven leadership experience with a focus on empathetic, inclusive people management and the development of leadership skills within a team
- Experience establishing and managing legal department standards and processes
- Strong stakeholder management skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to manage risk across the company and to develop governance structures
- Very good written and spoken German and English
