About the role
- Utilizes all modes of communication to promote, maintain, and enhance ground ambulance operations.
- Obtains patient information from a variety of sources.
- Ensures rapid dispatch of ambulance crews, patient transport requirements, coordinates arrivals at residential/hospital pick up and drop off locations.
- Demonstrates ambulance following via radio and CAD to monitor safe ambulance response and safe resource allocation.
- Notifies receiving hospital of ground transport of ETAs.
- Skilled in the current systems utilized in the Communication Center.
- Dispatching techniques/terminology, ambulance transport following, and map geo-locating skills.
- Reports to a designated Battalion Chief.
- Acts as a Lead in the Communication Center, holding others accountable to job tasks, acting as a liaison with the Battalion Chief, promoting excellent dispatching services for our customers.
Requirements
- Education High School Diploma or GED- Required
- BLS (American Heart Association) - Preferred
- EMS/Medical Background – Preferred
- Ambulance Dispatching Experience - Required
