About the role
- Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial complexities which have important impact on major company programs
- Acts as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individual's field
- Completes assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations
- Support component failure rate analysis and development of work plans
- Become a subject matter expert in at least one inverter manufacturer
- Conducting root-cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures at solar sites
- Providing assistance to field technicians with troubleshooting inverter and other solar issues
- Support the development of countermeasures for recurring issues
- Support responses to regulatory bodies for data requests
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Bachelor’s Degree in other engineering discipline with equivalent experience with electrical systems
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- Utility-scale inverter and power electronics experience
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering (desired)
- >2 years of experience with solar inverters (desired)
- Six Sigma Green Belt (desired)
- Experience with electrical system modelling software (PSSE, PSCAD, SKM, ETAP, etc.) (desired)
