About the role
- Perform advanced inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting on solar energy systems
- Lead by example in promoting a safe working environment
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Independently diagnose and troubleshoot system issues
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies
- Share knowledge and expertise with junior technicians
- Travel on short notice and be available during non-traditional working hours
- Perform comprehensive inspections including electrical and mechanical components.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in the solar industry or related field
- Demonstrated understanding of electrical systems, solar energy principles, and grid-tied systems
- Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems preferred
- OSHA 30-hour and NFPA 70e certification preferred
- FAA Part 107 Certification
- Familiar operating Drones for Aerial Thermographic purposes
- Familiar with the use of diagnostic tools such as I/V Curve Tracers, Meggers, and Isolation testers
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
