About the role
- Perform daily reconciliation of commodity derivatives, ensuring accuracy and proactively investigating discrepancies to mitigate operational and financial risk.
- Review new positions against authorized trading limits and approved policies, providing timely insights and escalating any deviations to management.
- Deliver accurate trades position reports and monitor daily margin requirements to ensure compliance and risk control.
- Execute P&L and Mark-to-Market reporting, review hedge effectiveness calculations, and clearly communicate financial and compliance impacts to key stakeholders.
- Partner with Procurement, Finance, and Business teams to deliver data-driven analysis, evaluate strategic cases, and implement process improvements.
- Drive operational excellence by implementing enhanced controls and contributing to system upgrades, targeting reduced error rates and shorter cycle times.
- Maintain documentation for derivatives and audits, supporting adherence to internal and external guidelines through simplification, standardization, and automation.
Requirements
- University or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Management; Accounting certification is an asset.
- Well established experience in Finance & Control or a Treasury-related function with interest in understanding of financial instruments and commodity markets.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Skilled at simplifying complexity, driving process standardization, and supporting automation initiatives.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced), SAP FI/CO, and experience with automation tools (Power Automate, Power BI).
- Fluency in English, any additional languages are a plus.
