About the role

  • Research, write, and edit clear, accurate, and engaging Earth and climate science content for public audiences across articles, reports, social media, and multimedia formats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or Marketing plus at least 10 years experience writing about Earth science and climate for the public, with an emphasis on the cryosphere.
  • Must have an existing network of scientific experts that can be consulted for stories.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as well as Drupal and WordPress content management systems.
  • Ability to do basic html coding.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment with daily production deadlines.
  • History working for NASA Earth Observatory or NOAA Climate.gov websites.
