• Managing, maintaining, and enhancing Virtualisation technologies across MUFG
• Implementing tools and processes for efficient and effective operational management of the environment
• Defining and implementing service catalogue whilst ensuring workload is kept within defined parameters
• Producing clear supporting documentation to enable off-shore to provide first and second-line of support
• Providing deep technical assessments of ticket queues to identify and address issues in a holistic manner
• Performing root cause analysis to resolve any technical issues that off-shore escalate
• Striving to permanently eliminate issues through automation opportunities and sustainable long-term fixes
• Partnering with SRE team to identify areas for continuous improvement, automation and self-service
• Ensuring all project / investment workloads are delivered according to plans and budget defined
• Liaising with Infrastructure Control and IT Risk teams to satisfy internal and external audit requests
• Managing the lifecycle of virtualisation products and maintaining strong relationships with vendor partners
• Effectively managing Vulnerability Management and Security Compliance remediation agenda
• Deputising for team lead when required to do so and act-up accordingly
• Taking part in On-Call & weekend work rotation; triaging and addressing production issues as they arise
• Identifying cost saving and optimisation opportunities across the group
• Building strong working relationships across the organisation
• Adhering to the core values of the bank
• Performing daily health and compliance checks for all systems as required
• Ensuring all Virtualisation systems are backed up successfully and any issues are promptly resolved
• Validating monitoring alerts and batch job failures are detected promptly and satisfactorily resolved
• Ensuring sufficient capacity is available to accommodate drive growth
• Responding to emails sent to the team distribution list / mailboxes in a timely manner
• Handling incidents and requests with efficiency and a “customer first” mindset
• Maintaining Virtualisation platforms in a highly available, reliable, secure and performant manner
• General Virtualisation maintenance activities
• Providing technical support to application support and development teams
• Providing consultancy to application support and development teams
• Executing disaster recovery procedures when necessary and taking part in regular DR tests
• Ensuring patches and security updates are applied as per defined policies
• Developing and maintaining all operational procedures to ensure they are current and accurate
