• Conduct thorough investigations and evaluate and negotiate complex claims
• Ensure compliance with MSMM Claim Handling Guidelines
• Investigate, research and analyze highly complex or severe claims
• Establish appropriate case reserves and complete settlements
• Recommend reserve and settlement values on assigned cases
• Manage and negotiate timely claim payments and settlements
• Attend pre-trials, trials, and settlements on assigned cases as required
• Assign and monitor quality of defense counsel
• Maintain compliance with all requirements of the company’s Litigation Management Program
• Review legal expenses for accuracy and reasonableness
• Service claim needs of customers
• Maintain ongoing communication with customers throughout the claims process
• Complete timely and accurate data reports to state reporting agencies
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory Fair Claim Practices Acts
• Participate in special projects and assignments as needed
