About the role

  • Source and procure assigned commodities.
  • Ability to review and understand engineering standards and drawings.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and return defective items.
  • Maintain detailed records of purchases and supplier performance.
  • Prepare reports on inventory status, usage trends, and cost analysis.
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement.
  • Manage purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality or delivery.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Analyze inventory data to forecast future purchasing needs.
  • Conduct cost analyses to identify areas for potential savings.
  • Monitor spending against budget and report variances to management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement best practices and improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university.
  • Minimum three (3) years of procurement experience in the power generation industry; or, eight (8) years of procurement experience; or, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
  • MBA/ISM/APCIS Members/CSCM or CPIM, preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Travel up to 10%.
