About the role

  • Design, develop, evaluate and support automated industrial machinery products with focus on the Component Manufacturing (CM) and off-site construction industry
  • Lead team members through the planning, development, and deployment of complex mechanical architectures with a high level of integrated automation
  • Generate mechanical project execution artifacts of small to large scale deployments (i.e. cost estimates, schedules, resource needs, risks, forecasts, status, etc.)
  • Participate in the staged-gating process (i.e. requirements reviews, design reviews, test readiness reviews, verification reviews, etc.)
  • Conduct troubleshooting, root cause and corrective actions
  • Design, integrate, and test mechanical parts and assemblies using industry best practices
  • Design, integrate, and test industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Design, integrate, and test industrial electro-mechanical and robotic systems
  • Develop and maintain project documentation (i.e. system requirements, engineering drawings, equipment manuals, test plans, project notes, etc.)
  • Develop and publish new standardized processes and procedures that affect engineering organization
  • Ensure compliance with MiTek engineering procedures, guidelines, industry standards, and governmental regulations applicable to industrial machinery
  • Perform engineering analysis and calculations where applicable (including FEA analysis)
  • Enter new or update existing data in MRP/ERP system
  • Support Manufacturing, Marketing & Sales, Purchasing, Installation, and Customer Service Organizations throughout a product’s lifecycle
  • Review/stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and technicians

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • 8+ years of related engineering experience required
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks highly preferred
  • Proficiency in pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in machining and welding symbols with experience in GD&T analysis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to rapidly diagnose and troubleshoot automated systems
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
  • Strong planning, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication skills to interact frequently with stake holders
