About the role

  • Review and validate monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Provide technical accounting support including guidance on complex accounting issues in line with relevant standards (e.g. AASB)
  • Complete month-end financial accounting for centralised businesses ensuring the integrity of the general ledger
  • Prepare annual and half yearly reporting requirements consistent with the Metcash guidelines
  • Drive financial process improvements through streamlining, control enhancement and documentation
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditors to meet compliance and reporting requirements

Requirements

  • CA/CPA qualification
  • Professional services background with exposure to listed or large private entities
  • Strong understanding of AASB/IFRS accounting standards and their application
  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing and improving balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial accounting or audit within a complex, multi-entity environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as AX, TM1, or similar platforms
  • Proven ability to improve processes and strengthen financial controls
