About the role
- Organize and plan all outbound shipments to our markets to optimally ensure our customer satisfaction target >= 98.5%.
- Manage internal and external communications and all reporting related to responsibility for coordinating physical distribution.
- Control our shipping data and support continuous improvement in systems usage (SAP Outbound, WMS, Shipment Tools) on site.
- Develop shipping and delivery plans for finished goods originating from the factory.
- Align the plan with all parties involved in shipping and receiving goods.
- Prepare all relevant documents accompanying shipments, including export documentation.
- Record all transactions in SAP.
- Verify documents prepared by shipping department associates as well as all relevant internal and external procedures; organize storage of documentation in accordance with group requirements.
- Ensure all third‑party logistics providers act in accordance with contractual obligations and Mars, Inc. procedures.
- Proactively collaborate with production planners and inform them of 'in‑transit' situations; escalate to senior management any issues that pose a risk to the business and/or customer service through the CMOS/COR+ process.
- Develop synergies in shipment organization to minimize logistics costs: transport and handling fees, capital costs, demurrage/late fees, etc.
- As a key user/power user for shipments, ensure all systems in this area (SAP Outbound, WMS, shipment tools...) are correctly configured and used.
- Monitor FG (finished goods) stock (factory/warehouses) using systems and FG inventories to ensure accurate stock valuation and correct billing of products shipped to our markets; identify sources of discrepancy and implement corrections accordingly.
- Collect and prepare documentation required for audits, insurance claims or inspections by local administrative authorities.
- Develop regular reports in line with local and regional requirements.
- Provide backup support for other Logistics functions within the department.
Requirements
- Associate degree (Bac+2) or equivalent in logistics, international trade or transportation
- Minimum of 2 years' professional experience in Logistics
- Strong IT skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SAP)
- Solid knowledge of international trade regulations
- Familiarity with the different products and SKUs manufactured
- Fluent in English (read, written and spoken)
- Proven facilitation and leadership skills
