About the role
- Manage one or two underwriting units within the Commercial Lines Underwriting Department.
- Drive operational excellence and profitable growth.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with underwriting standards.
- Monitor agency performance and take decisive action to maintain quality and profitability.
- Lead system and process improvements, and champion automation and efficiency initiatives.
- Develop talent and mentor team members while collaborating with Product Management and other teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- 9–11 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree plus 7–9 years.
- Minimum of 3 years in underwriting supervisory or management roles.
- Strong collaborative skills with cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of rate setting, product management, IT systems, policy services, and communications.
- Proven ability to lead functional and technical projects, manage budgets, schedules, and performance requirements.
