About the role
- Design, implement, and test robotic systems for operation in dynamic environments
- Work closely with mechanical design, electrical, and software teams to refine manipulation, perception, and autonomy capabilities
- Improve capabilities and reliability of robotic payload on multiple platforms
- Develop, implement, and test robotic motion and control algorithms for mobile platforms
- Update existing motion control algorithms with new capabilities
- Involved in development from brainstorming through to field testing on hardware
- Configure or develop necessary simulation and laboratory environments to test early and often
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI or higher level US security clearance (Active clearance is not required to start)
- 3+ years of experience working on the design of robotic systems
- Mathematics of rotations (rotation matrices, quaternions, Euler angles, etc.)
- Basics of Control Theory
- Professional experience with the following software tools: Matlab, C++, Git
