About the role

Join Kyndryl as a Mainframe Modernization Application Consultant and lead mainframe modernization initiatives
Drive change and enable customers to harness technology across industries
Collaborate with customers to gain deep insights into their business objectives and provide expert guidance
Conduct thorough needs assessments and document specifications using Business Analysis methodologies
Craft comprehensive use cases, trace requirements, and visualize process flows
Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into functional and nonfunctional specifications
Assist customers in selecting and customizing packaged solutions to meet business needs
Work closely with application architects and development staff to plan design and implementation work
Refactor complex and nested QMF procedures, SQL queries, forms, and JCL batch jobs for migration to target environments
Consult on compatibility challenges including hardware/OS considerations, data conversion processes, and training requirements
Support solution development and Proof of Concept phases and help customers choose between multiple applications
Adhere to time, cost, and quality targets while delivering modernization solutions

10+ Years' experience in Mainframe Application Development
MUST HAVE - Mainframe/COBOL/Batch and either CICS or IMS with experience of the other
Highly skilled Technical Specialist sought to work as part of a team refactoring a large number of Job Control Language (JCL) and Query Management Facility (QMF) on z/OS PROCS plus their component parts
Experience in REXX and CLIST
Experience with DB2 databases
Experience refactoring complex and nested QMF procedures, SQL queries, and forms
Experience refactoring JCL batch jobs to maintain functionality in target environments
Experience or knowledge of migration to Enterprise Server running in Azure and Microsoft SQL Managed instance databases
Early joiners may support solution development and Proof of Concept phases
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent job experience
Preferred: Experience in one or more Hyperscale to leverage cloud-native solutions
