About the role

Drive mainframe application modernization and act as a trusted advisor to customers
Conduct thorough needs assessments and document specifications using Business Analysis methodologies
Craft comprehensive use cases, trace requirements, and visualize process flows
Gather stakeholder requirements and translate into functional and nonfunctional specifications
Guide customers through application modernization steps and ensure systems are future-proofed
Assist customers in selecting and customizing packaged solutions
Collaborate closely with application architects and development staff to design and implement solutions
Analyze requirements, plan design and implementation work to meet time, cost, and quality targets
Consult on compatibility (hardware/OS), data conversion, and training requirements
Refactor JCL, QMF procedures, SQL queries and forms for migration to the target Azure Enterprise Server
Support solution development and proofs-of-concept

10+ years' experience in Mainframe Application Development
MUST HAVE - Mainframe/COBOL/Batch and either CICS or IMS (experience of the other)
Highly skilled in refactoring Job Control Language (JCL) and Query Management Facility (QMF) on z/OS PROCS
Experience in REXX and CLIST
Experience with DB2 databases
Experience migrating environments to Enterprise Server on Azure and Microsoft SQL Managed Instance
Experience refactoring complex and nested QMF procedures, SQL queries, forms, and JCL batch jobs
Ability to support solution development and Proof of Concept phases
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent job experience
Preferred: Experience with one or more hyperscale providers and cloud-native solutions
