About the role

  • Complete and accurate coding based on the patient record in dialogue with care providers
  • Gradually perform case-accompanying coding within the respective clinical departments
  • Ensure timely and correct coding
  • Support medical and nursing staff with documentation
  • Independently handle health insurance inquiries, case dialogues and MD management (individual case reviews through to completion)
  • Support the medical controlling function at both hospital locations
  • Maintain and further develop the service tree in ORBIS to manage medical service requirements

Requirements

  • Successfully completed 3-year vocational training in a healthcare profession and completed training as a medical coding specialist and/or further training in medical controlling
  • Several years of experience in coding across different specialties is desirable (especially internal medicine, intensive care)
  • Solid knowledge of documentation standards and regulations (DRG, ICD, OPS and DKR)
  • Basic database understanding and confident use of Excel
  • Commitment, resilience, teamwork skills and social competence
  • Experience with hospital information systems and MS Office
  • Strong communication and team skills
  • High initiative and a strong sense of responsibility
