About the role
- Lead the development of functions/components within the running gear (ground liaison) scope for a vehicle family.
- Represent the Ground Liaison (LAS) discipline to the project and other contributing functions.
- Plan and manage all development activities (CAD design, calculations, supplier development, validations, etc.).
- Consolidate all customer requirements and internal needs necessary for development.
- Ensure that technical and economic objectives for the managed scope are met.
- Carry out design work from conceptual studies through detailed design.
- Guarantee the quality and compliance of delivered outputs.
- Maintain documentation updates for the relevant scope.
- Lead the resolution of customer technical issues.
- Respond to component change requests and requests for waivers/deviations.
- Contribute to technical responses for tender proposals.
- Provide functional supervision to one or more LAS designers.
Requirements
- Master's degree (Bac+5) in general engineering or mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years' significant experience in studies and development within the transportation sector.
- Strong mechanical design, specification and manufacturing knowledge (forging, casting, welded assemblies, bolted assemblies).
- Knowledge of running gear/ground liaison techniques and key characteristic parameters.
- Knowledge of mechanical part sizing/dimensioning and strength calculations.
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic circuit technologies.
- Knowledge of the V-model product development cycle.
- Proficiency in CAD, specifically CATIA V5.
- Project management skills and experience working in a multi-project environment.
- Proficient in English (TOEIC 750 or equivalent).
