About the role

  • Lead the development of functions/components within the running gear (ground liaison) scope for a vehicle family.
  • Represent the Ground Liaison (LAS) discipline to the project and other contributing functions.
  • Plan and manage all development activities (CAD design, calculations, supplier development, validations, etc.).
  • Consolidate all customer requirements and internal needs necessary for development.
  • Ensure that technical and economic objectives for the managed scope are met.
  • Carry out design work from conceptual studies through detailed design.
  • Guarantee the quality and compliance of delivered outputs.
  • Maintain documentation updates for the relevant scope.
  • Lead the resolution of customer technical issues.
  • Respond to component change requests and requests for waivers/deviations.
  • Contribute to technical responses for tender proposals.
  • Provide functional supervision to one or more LAS designers.

Requirements

  • Master's degree (Bac+5) in general engineering or mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years' significant experience in studies and development within the transportation sector.
  • Strong mechanical design, specification and manufacturing knowledge (forging, casting, welded assemblies, bolted assemblies).
  • Knowledge of running gear/ground liaison techniques and key characteristic parameters.
  • Knowledge of mechanical part sizing/dimensioning and strength calculations.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic circuit technologies.
  • Knowledge of the V-model product development cycle.
  • Proficiency in CAD, specifically CATIA V5.
  • Project management skills and experience working in a multi-project environment.
  • Proficient in English (TOEIC 750 or equivalent).
