About the role
- Travels to develop and provide training and education for surveyors addressing the Resident Assessment Instrument and infection control as required by State and Federal Regulation.
- Performs liaison work between the Program, Section and the Division’s technical staff.
- Maintains current information and knowledge on diseases that occur in long-term care facilities.
- Plans agenda, secures speakers, and coordinates trainings in the regional offices.
- Completes necessary surveyor training.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requirements
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in nursing.
- Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
- Three (3) years’ of experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
- Two (2) years of long-term care survey experience preferred.
- Two (2) years thorough knowledge of State and Federal program requirements for long-term care facilities preferred.
- Two (2) years’ of experience planning, developing, and conducting statewide surveyor and/or provider educational programs preferred.
- Two (2) years’ of experience presenting ideas both verbally and in writing preferred.
- One (1) year experience with Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet’s, etc. preferred.
- Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
