About the role
- Manage, monitor, and maintain USCIS network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance
- Perform network troubleshooting and incident response to resolve connectivity and performance issues
- Utilize network monitoring tools to detect, diagnose, and prevent outages or service degradation
- Support configuration management, including updates, patches, and documentation of network changes
- Collaborate with engineering and security teams to align network operations with enterprise objectives
- Document operational procedures, incident reports, and configuration standards
- Contribute to ongoing initiatives to enhance network reliability, security, and scalability
- Support USCIS Office of Information Technology by delivering enterprise IT architecture, engineering, and solution development services
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in network administration, operations, or related roles
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field strongly preferred
- Proven expertise in: Network management and operations; Troubleshooting and incident response; Network monitoring tools and practices; Configuration management for enterprise networks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on maintaining uptime and reliability
- Must be eligible to obtain DHS Suitability security clearance (processing typically requires 2–4 weeks)
- Knowledge of cloud networking solutions (desired)
- Familiarity with network automation tools (desired)
- Ability to work in a standard office environment and participate in in-person meetings and operations as required (onsite in Burlington, VT)
