About the role

  • Support complex banking environments, ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and compliance of DB2 databases.
  • Work closely with development teams and auditors to guarantee seamless integration, data protection, and operational continuity.

Requirements

  • 5+ years hands-on experience as a DB2 for zOS Database Administrator in complex IT environments (preferably banking or financial services).
  • Expertise in IBM DB2 for zOS architecture, internals, and core components.
  • Proficient use of DB2 utilities for maintenance, recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Strong SQL skills (complex queries, advanced performance tuning).
  • Experience with tools like IBM OMEGAMON, BMC Mainview, or Broadcom/CA for DB2 performance monitoring.
  • Deep understanding of DB2 security and backup/recovery strategies.
  • Solid knowledge of the zOS operating system (DFSMS, CICS, MQ, etc.).
  • Working experience with JCL and TSO/ISPF.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Greek is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline (Postgraduate qualifications are a plus).
  • Relevant IBM DB2 certifications (mandatory).
