About the role

  • Monitor and Optimize Site Performance
  • Track PV and storage system performance using advanced data analytics tools to identify underperformance and emerging issues
  • Diagnose root causes using operational data, engineering knowledge, and site feedback
  • Prioritize and escalate issues to ensure timely resolution and minimal operational impact
  • Strengthen Operational Reporting and Insights
  • Develop clear production reports and summaries of field service activities in coordination with site teams and third-party O&M
  • Support ongoing root-cause investigations and maintain thorough documentation for operational learnings
  • Prepare performance reporting to lenders, highlighting production trends, key issues, and mitigation actions
  • Drive Collaboration Across Asset Operations
  • Partner with Asset Management to allocate resources and budgets toward the highest-priority site needs
  • Coordinate with O&M providers to ensure effective maintenance execution and strong communication flows
  • Contribute engineering insight to support real-time operational decision-making
  • Enhance Controls and System Performance
  • Optimize PV, storage, and plant-level control systems to maximize system availability and output in ERCOT market conditions
  • Use modeling tools such as PlantPredict to evaluate performance and identify improvement opportunities

Requirements

  • A technical educational background, such as a STEM bachelor’s degree or a major in environmental or sustainability sciences
  • 2+ years of experience as a performance engineer for a power plant operator or developer; experience working with O&M providers is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and quantify performance issues using data
  • Proficiency with PlantPredict and other performance modeling tools
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and technical schematics
  • Working knowledge of plant operations, electrical systems, SCADA systems, and general power-generation processes
  • Experience analyzing equipment performance using digital monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, preferably Python
  • Proficiency with G Suite and experience using monitoring platforms such as Envision, Power Factors, and AlsoEnergy
