About the role
- Work as part of the Policy Team
- Undertake research and come up with solutions for pressing issues
- Provide research, policy briefings, advice and support to Members
- Draft reports to a publication standard on important issues
- Support Members in holding the Mayor to account through Mayor’s Question Time
- Update Assembly Members on latest developments in policy areas
- Meet with Assembly Members to discuss committee papers and questions to the Mayor
- Undertake research by delving into relevant datasets
Requirements
- Demonstrable research skills
- Proven experience of policy briefing in a political/ public sector organisation
- Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of writing a range of different styles of document for different audiences
- Experience of producing information for media work and/or briefings for media interviews
- Experience of dealing with confidential/sensitive issues and documents
- Ability to work in a politically complex organisation
- Knowledge and understanding of media handling techniques
- Ability to utilise the latest information and communication technologies
