About the role

  • Assist in maintaining and supporting our diverse SQL environments while learning best practices for database administration
  • Work closely with senior DBAs and application teams to ensure database performance, integrity, and availability
  • Assist with monitoring SQL databases for performance and availability
  • Support routine maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and patching
  • Help troubleshoot basic database issues under guidance from senior team members
  • Learn to optimize queries and indexes for better performance
  • Participate in implementing security standards and compliance requirements
  • Assist with database installations, upgrades, and configuration
  • Document processes and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL concepts
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server or similar database platforms
  • Strong willingness to learn and grow in a technical role
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Exposure to cloud environments (Azure, GCP, or AWS) is a plus.
  • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, T-SQL) is a plus.
  • Internship or hands-on experience with database administration tasks is a plus.
