About the role

  • Designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and well-tested systems using PHP (Laravel) and other modern frameworks and languages (such as Golang).
  • Using C4 modelling and architectural thinking to design new features and systems.
  • Participating in the full development lifecycle: concept, estimation, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and optimisation.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with product goals and business priorities.
  • Championing systems thinking, translating technical concepts into business value and contributing to product discovery and delivery.
  • Maintaining a strong focus on code quality, performance, and security.
  • Mentoring other engineers, sharing knowledge, and fostering a culture of continuous growth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional development experience, with experience in PHP/Laravel.
  • Experience in at least one other modern language or framework - ideally .NET Core, Go, Kotlin/ Native/Multiplatform. Alternatively experience in TypeScript, Node.js or Python.
  • Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
  • Experience creating or working with C4 diagrams and system architecture documentation.
  • Proven ability to estimate work accurately and deliver within agreed timelines.
  • Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, including performance tuning.
  • Proficiency with Git-based workflows and Linux environments.
  • Experience with o11y tools.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical and product decisions.
  • Advanced English.
