About the role
- Lead and support project and site HSE teams across the CEU-NEU region as a dedicated People Manager
- Integrate HSE considerations into project planning, execution, and handover phases
- Champion implementation of the HVDC HSE strategy across the CEU-NEU region and drive performance and compliance
- Act as the key HSE liaison between CEU-NEU and global leadership ensuring strategic alignment
- Collaborate with other Regional HSE Managers to deliver a uniform approach
- Contribute HSE expertise in project reviews for Operations and Construction & Commissioning
- Support business development by providing HSE input during tendering and proposal stages
- Drive the development and delivery of HSE training programs tailored to regional needs
- Manage and resolve regulatory or legal HSE-related issues within the region
- Manage the department budget in the region for continuous improvement, training, travel, expenses and workshops
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a complex, matrix-based organization
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Safety or Engineering)
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Proven ability to manage multiple resources across diverse geographical locations
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach
- Experience developing and implementing strategies that deliver measurable business results
- Commercial awareness and experience working directly with customers/clients
- People management experience (lead and support project and site HSE teams)
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Fluent in German; Dutch desirable
