About the role
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for machined and welded mechanical parts
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand technical specifications and requirements
- Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize costs and lead times
- Improve the quality of purchased parts, conducting supplier performance evaluations, and strengthen partnerships with our strategic suppliers
- Manage purchase orders and track procurement activities
- Follow group policies, procedures, and KPIs to ensure alignment with corporate objectives
- Continuously seek opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience or relevant training in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of mechanical components, machining, and welding processes
- Previous experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience in the manufacturing of welded or machined mechanical parts will clearly be a plus, even without prior purchasing experience.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven
