Procurement

• The Buyer/planner role includes material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, and vendor selection
• Responsible for tactical procurement of all direct purchased materials and services
• Work with suppliers to expedite material requirements to meet customer needs
• Develop relationships with suppliers and maintain communication to ensure ship dates and determine arrival times
• Forecast and track shortages within the production environment
• Maintain A,B, and C classifications by SKU number
• Review financial statements and performance data to measure goal achievement and identify cost reduction areas
• Assist in training new employees
• Other duties as assigned by management
