About the role
- The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for directing the activities of licensed and non-licensed personnel who provide health care & nursing services to clients within Hickory Recovery Network.
- The Director of Nursing, under the direction of the Executive Director, is responsible for maintaining operations of the Nursing Service Department to ensure that the highest degree of quality client care is always maintained in accordance with State and Federal Regulations, facility policies & procedures, and client directives.
- TB testing for clients and employees, placing PPD, reading results, completing, and maintaining documentation.
- Scheduling COVID testing, Vaccinations, recording and maintaining Covid documentation for clients and staff.
- Medical Records-assisting in providing requested records as needed, confirming ROI, sending medical record requests to in-house counsel, copying records, and recording and maintaining a request log with date, time, and provider requesting records.
- Maintaining medical supplies and stock medications monthly via McKesson and/or other approved vendors.
- Maintain and adjust nursing schedule.
- Assisting and facilitating clients’ schedules with medical providers as requested.
- Leading infection control and antibiotic tracking and monitoring, administration of flu vaccines to staff and clients, random handwashing audits, monitoring client isolation/quarantine.
- Flexibility of schedule to allow coverage of open nursing shifts as needed due to staff call-in’s, vacations, or emergency situations as they arise.
- Ordering, drawing, and receiving labs as ordered by the licensed providers. Reporting critical labs to the provider and entering required documentation into the e-chart. Chart audits performed daily for assessments, medication administration, V/S documentation, and client education.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school for professional nurses and licensed in good standing in the state where work will be performed.
- Valid RN license
- At least 2 years prior experience as an RN preferably with hospital and behavioral health experience
- At least one year of supervision experience in the nursing field.
- Certified BLS provider.
- Satisfactory OIG exclusions and background check.
- Satisfactory personal & professional references.
