About the role
- Accelerate research towards new applications, core methodologies and technologies
- Achieve a low-power consumption, high-speed photonic interconnect system for HPE data center business
- Collaborate with HPE Labs research teams and external partners
- Provide thought leadership and technical influence internally and externally to HPE
Requirements
- Working towards a PhD degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
- Demonstrated potential for high-caliber research
- Good understanding of the current state of the art, major trends and opportunities
- Theoretical and/or experimental knowledge of Si photonics, analog electronic in-memory computing, quantum computing, statistical physics, or machine learning
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English
- Strong systems programming and software engineering skills
- Strong track record to work independently and in teams
